Melvin L. Eaton, 68, of Greenwich died on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. Born on October 8, 1951 in New London, Ohio to the late Ross E. and Elsie (Davidson) Eaton.
Melvin retired after 30 years of service with the Huron County Dog Wardens Office. A member of the FOP and NRA, Melvin enjoyed trapping, fishing and coon hunting. He could often be found looking for arrow heads.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lenora (Hartley) Eaton; daughter, Crissy Eaton of Georgia; step children, Aaron (Sandi) Weltlin of Plymouth and Yvette Robertson of New Washington; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Lu Dube and Nancy Hunt; brothers, Ray, Ken and Dean Eaton all of New London. Melvin was preceded in death by his sister, Marian Eaton and brother, Carl Eaton.
A drive thru visitation to show support for the family will be held at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St. New London, Ohio 44857 on Monday, August 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitors should enter using the funeral home’s West entrance, remain in their vehicles, briefly greet the family and exit using the East exit. Visitors are also encouraged to wear a mask and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines.
