Ronald "Butch" Caswell Obituary

Ronald Elden “Butch” Caswell Jr., 67, of Wellington, died Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain. Born on December 4, 1956 in Oberlin, he was the son of the late Ronald E. Caswell and Margaret L. (nee Barrett) Cremeans.  Butch attended Wellington High School and joined the Army.

Butch was an avid fisherman and enjoyed anything that had to do with fishing. He liked to dress up as Santa for family gatherings with his nieces and nephews. Each Christmas he would bake hundreds of his famous sugar cookies and give them out to friends and family.

Survivors include his siblings, Rick (Karen) Caswell, Bill (Julie) Schramm, Bob (Sharon) Schramm, Tony Schramm, and Betty (Dave) Irvan; nieces and nephews, Alecia, Aaron, Desiree, William Jr, Christopher, Melissa, Bobby, David, Gregory, James, Allen, Nikki, Sarah, and Samantha; his roommate of 12 years, Jessie McCartney; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Caswell.

A private family burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wellington Eagles at a later date.
