William "Bill" Robert McComas

William “Bill” Robert McComas, 83, of New London, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Laurels of New London. He was born on December 7, 1937 to the late Mary Margaret and Silas Richard McComas.  

After serving in the United States Army, Bill made a career as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed many activities including fixing lawn mowers, fishing, playing cribbage, competing in horseshoe competitions, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cynthia McComas, of New London, Ohio; daughter, Cheryl Hansen, of Elyria, Ohio; grandchildren, Robert “Robbie” Hansen, Elyria, Ohio and Reba Hansen, of Norwalk, Ohio; siblings, Ronald McComas and Sandra Hardway, both of New London, Ohio.  

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his children, Nancy McComas and William McComas Jr.; and his siblings, Jerry McComas and Betty Craft.  

Bill’s family will receive guest at the First Baptist Church of New London, 432 Park Avenue, New London, Ohio 44851, on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow. Guests are required to bring and wear a mask or face covering while in the church and are encouraged to practice all social distancing and mass gathering requirements.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
