Virginia Mae Russell, 93, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk with her loving family at her side. Virginia was born June 26, 1926, daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Brown) Scott. She had been a lifelong resident of the Ashland and Sullivan areas. Virginia attended Ashland Schools. She was a homemaker. Virginia was a lifelong member of the former Sullivan Christian Church (now called the Sullivan Nazarene Church). She was a lifetime member of the Ashland V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary. Virginia loved to go out to eat, shopping, traveling, especially to Las Vegas and Hawaii, and Senior Bus Trips, but loved spending time with her family including holidays.
She is survived by her children, Sherry (Jim) Fishbaugh of Norwalk, Dennis (Debra) Ringler of Sullivan; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Adam Ringler of Miami, Florida, Jacob (Samantha Bennett) Ringler of Grafton, Ohio, Andrew Rinlger of Miami, Florida and Brock (Angela) Ringler of Ashland; several nieces and nephews; her constant fury companions, Midnight, Chloe and TY. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Ringler in 1982, her second husband, James Russell, her son, Scott Ringler, 2 sisters, Betty Thompson and Joan Erdenberger.
Per Virginia’s wishes cremation took place. A private family graveside service will take place at the Sullivan Southview Cemetery at a later time. Memorials may be sent to the Sullivan Nazarene Church Elevator Fund (formally 1st Christian Church). The family would like to thank the staff of the Laurels of New London, for their excellent care and kindness during the three month journey.
