Susan Wendling Obituary

Susan L. Wendling (nee Williams), 73, of Wellington, peacefully passed away after a short illness on Monday Sept. 26, 2022. She was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Hohenwald, Tenn. to parents, Albert and Lillian (nee Plummer) Williams. The family moved to Lorain, Ohio in the early 1950's where she grew up.

Susan was a 1966 graduate of Clearview High School and was a member of the marching band and a basketball cheerleader. She worked at the Lorain K-Mart (Builders Square) for 33yrs. Susan was a member of Vincent UMC (Lorain) and later Oak Grove UMC (Tenn.) and was an active choir member for both. Her most cherished pastime was Southern Gospel music and enjoyed many trips to Tenn. and Alabama to listen to her favorite groups. She and her husband lived in Hampshire, Tn. for 16 years before returning to Ohio, and residing in Wellington.

 

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Michael; stepdaughter, Carolyn Wendling; grandchildren, Breanna and Aidan Brennan, and nephew, John Williams, as well as her four-footed family, Lucy, and Charlie, both rescued cats.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Williams; sister, Janice Kelly, and stepdaughter, Michelle Brennan.

 

She will be cremated, and funeral arrangements will be private. Going along with her wishes, no services will be held.
