Susan "Romine" Cutting

Susan “Romine” Cutting, age 79, of New London, Passed away gracefully and peacefully Wednesday, April 3, 2024 surrounded by her family at OhioHealth, Mansfield. She was born on Dec 26, 1944 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Lucinda and Louise Barnes. She grew up in Sun Valley, West Virginia and Graduated from Victory High School in Clarksburg in 1963. In 1963 she married Robert Romine, To Whom she was married for 21 years before heading separate ways. Shortly after getting married they moved to Clarksfield and Susan has lived in New London for over 50 years since. She worked as a school bus driver and for several years making and packing Candy at Fanny Farmer’s in Norwalk before remarrying in 1986 to Lawrence Cutting. They Enjoyed 34 years together and shared a love of vacationing in Florida before his passing in 2020.

Susan had a passion for nature. She was a member of the New London Garden Club for 30 years and obtained a Master Gardener certification. She helped start the Tradition of White Snowflake lights being hung around New London on Christmas. Further, She enjoyed spending hours in her gardens growing Flowers. She especially loved teaching her loved ones the names of flowers, trees, birds, and other plants. Her knowledge of nature was impeccable and she passed this legacy on to her descendants. In short, she was full of love and loved dearly by both her family and the community.

She is survived by her Special Friend Robert Romine who found their way back to each other in later years. Brothers Ed and Donna Barnes, Scott Barnes, and Adam Barnes, Sister In-law Chris Barnes, Her son Jeff and Holly Romine, her daughter Cindi and Tim Amburgy; her stepchildren Cheri, Richard, and Larry Cutting; her 10 Grandkids and 11 Great Grandkids. She was preceded in death by her brother Steve Barnes.

Calling hours are Sunday April 7th from 1 – 3pm at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street New London, OH 44851. The funeral will commence at 3pm with Burial to follow at Fitchville Cemetery. Friends and Family are invited to a Dinner immediately after the burial at Fitchville Hall, 2700 Crescent Rd New London, OH 44851.
