Stuart Floyd Chase

Stuart F. Chase, 90, of New London, died Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home.  He was born November 9, 1931, in Ney, OH to the late Gladys (Rose) and Floyd Chase.  For 42 years, Stuart was the General Superintendent at Jennings and Churella Construction Company; after retirement he began working part-time at Firelands Electric Co-Op.   He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, his commitment to helping others, his generous heart and his passion for outdoor work. Stuart was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in New London and Knights of Columbus.  

Mr. Chase is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty (Nestor) Chase; 6 children, Pamela (Wayne) Johnson, of Springboro, Angela Chase, of New London, Brenda Reeves, of Oberlin, Mark (Terrie) Chase, of New London, Paul (Erica) Chase, of New London, and Claudia (Robert) Stanley, of Farmville, VA; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 4 siblings, Mark C. Chase, of VA, Anita Jean Wonder, of WI, Joyce Huestis, of New London, and Gloria Aluzas, of CA.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Nathaniel Enderby; brother, Norbert Chase and sister, Yvonne Stantz. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a 5:30 Rosary Service at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Brickner officiating.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  The Chase family is encouraging all in attendance to wear a mask.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes. Expressions of sympathy can be made at eastmanfuneralhome.com.
