Sandra Sue (Haynes) Miller, 75, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at home after a year long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Norwalk to the late Guilbert and Vivian (Stout) Haynes and graduated from Norwalk High School. She began working at the Huron County Bank in 1964, retiring from National City Bank in 2003. She returned to work at PNC where she later retired again.
Throughout her life Sandy was dedicated to the people and things she loved. She had a kind and generous spirit and there wasn’t a lost creature she didn’t want to rescue. The dogs and cats she brought into her home became her fortunate children.
She had a talent for making things beautiful. Christmas was her favorite holiday and her home was a magical and festive wonderland filled with treasures she collected throughout her life. It was the hope, warmth and tradition of the season that she cherished and carried with her year-round.
Later in life, she looked forward to and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Guardians and doing the daily crossword puzzle in the paper.
Her gentle nature, positive attitude and ability to smile through it all will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Richard E. Miller; son, Tyler R. Miller; sister, Cindy (Haynes) McFadden; granddaughter, and “joy of her life”, Annabelle; nephews, John (Beth), Tim (A.J.), and Scott (Lachell) McFadden; niece, Kelly (Scot) Smith and several more nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews; her adored four-legged companions, “Bella”, and cat “Lily”. She is also survived by her special friends, Vicki, Debbie, Barb, and Linda.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the 12:30 p.m. service at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
