Roberta R. Arnold, 83, of Wellington, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2020 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. She was born on February 17, 1937 in Cleveland to the late William F. and Althea (Wilbur) Tefs. Roberta grew up in Medina and moved to Wellington in the 7th grade. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1955 and in school she met the love of her life, Jack Arnold, and they spent over 64 years together.
Roberta worked at Oberlin Clinic as a medical secretary for 25 years and was a member of Wellington United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She loved watching NASCAR, playing cards, horses and cherished time with her family and friends. Many special memories were made following her daughters and grandchildren around horse and livestock show pens.
She is survived by her husband Jack Arnold; their daughters, Sherry Arnold-Nickles and Shelly Arnold-Odenkirk; grandchildren, Eric, Kyle (Audrey) and Kirsten Nickles and Cory and Chelsea Odenkirk and great grandchildren, Claire and Sylvia Nickles.
In keeping with Roberta’s wishes she will be cremated. There will be an outdoor service followed by a meal at the Arnold residence on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy New Life Hospice of Lorain or the Lorain County 4-H Endowment Fund c/o OSU Extension, Lorain County.
