Richard John Timman

Richard John Timman, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio died on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 20, 1933 to the late Beth (Bartow) and John Timman.  

After graduating Norwalk High School in 1951, he spent several years working at a truck driver for Harris Products Company in Cleveland. He served in the United States Army in 1955 and served nearly two years earning numerous medals. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Timman, and the two celebrated over 50 years or marriage together. Richard worked for over 20 years at Cedar Point until his retirement. He was a member of the Norwalk Moose Club and the Norwalk VFW Post 2743. In his free time, Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing dart ball, and spending time with his family.  

He is survived by his children, Rick Timman, Terry Timman, Randy (Rosa Linda) Timman, and Amy (Michael) Sabo; grandchildren, Josh, Chelsea, Shelby, and Leanna; great-grandchildren, Kianna, Salem, and River; siblings, Henry (Marty) Timman and Mary Lippert. 

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Timman; daughter, Lisa Timman; granddaughter, Danielle Timman; and brother, Jim Timman. 

His family will receive friends on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Richard will be cremated, and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Visitors are required to bring and wear a mask and are encouraged to follow all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines.
