Richard E. Spoerr, 80, of Sewanee, TN, passed away on February 16, 2020 at home. He was born on March 23, 1939 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Edward and Marion (Kessler) Spoerr. Richard was a graduate of East Leyden High School. He was raised in Mansfield,OH and had lived in Warren, Toledo, the suburbs of Chicago, IL and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, making many friends along the way.
Richard enjoyed road trips, family visits, boating, model trains, antique cars, bowling and appreciated the value of a good laugh. He owned and operated his own tool and die business, C.C. Tool & Engineering which he started from the ground up. The business was named after his two daughters, Cynthia and Catherine. He was an honest man that never failed to provide for his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sindy Ahlgard Spoerr; children, Cynthia Spoerr, Catherine Yardley and Richard Spoerr, stepchildren: Steven Penna, Michele Barth, John Penna; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and aunt, Lucille Grimmer and two adorable cats that he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Helen (Leber) Spoerr and beloved first wife, Patricia Ann Spoerr.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from noon until 2 P.M. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St., Norwalk. A burial will take place at 9 A.M. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Monroeville.
