Richard H. Schnee

Richard H. Schnee, 93, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday evening, May 19, 2022.  

Richard was born on August 26 ,1928, in Norwalk, OH, to the late Harold and Lucille (Hofacker) Schnee.  

Richard was a lifelong resident of Norwalk and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a mechanic at Ebert’s Garage and eventually retired from Cedar Point, also as a mechanic. In his spare time Richard enjoyed Sunday cruises with his wife, camping with friends and family, and working on cars. In his later years, he could be seen riding his 3-wheel bicycle around Norwalk. Richard was well known for having a quick wit and a great sense of humor.  

Richard is survived by his 3 sons, William Schnee, Terry (Jan) Schnee, and Ronald (Vicky) Schnee, all of Norwalk; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded by his wife, Sylvia (Spohn) Schnee, who passed away in 2004; brother, Roy Schnee, and sister, Ruth Ensminger.  

A prayer service will be held at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 on Tuesday May 24, 2022, at 9:45 am before a procession to St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 for a 10:30 am Funeral Mass. A burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
