Richard A. Hixon

Richard A. Hixon, 70, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Norwalk Memorial Home. He was born on November 8, 1950 to the late Lillian (King) Rogers and Martin Hixon.  

Richard was a graduate of Brookside High School in Shefield Lake, Ohio. He worked for MTD Products for 39 years before retirement in 2012. He previously coached softball and enjoyed bowling. He loved his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. 

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Philbert Taulbee) Hixon, Shari (Jim) Fisher, Heather Hixon, Heidi (Carl Bennett, Jr.) Back, and Holly (Brian) Higgins; grandchildren, Makayla and Kaden; siblings, Howard (Janet) Hixon, Helen (Jim) Edelman, and Linda (Greg) Berent; former wife, Sharon Hixon; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by daughter, Kari Hixon; sister, Karen Rogers; foster parents, Emma and Charles Grassman; stepfather, Marvin Rogers; and his beloved pets, Sadie and Shadow. 

Richard’s family will receive friends at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery. Richard’s family encourages visitors to dress in casual wear for the visitation and service.
