Richard A. Chester, 73, of Sheffield Village, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Born in Cambridge, Ohio on February 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Norma (nee Heskett) and Roger Chester Jr. He was a graduate from Zane Trace High School in Old Washington, Ohio.
Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He previously worked for Cleveland Steel/Rockwell, Nordson Corp., UPS, and most recently, Applied Home Health Care. Richard was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed camping and working in his yard. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Richard leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Jackie (nee Skeen) Chester; children, Amy (Kevin) Jarrell, Becky (Jerry) Gorby, Karen (Rodney) Peterson, Shannon (Josh) Smith, Adam (Krystal) Slee, and Victoria (Jim) Mishic; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and sister, Pam (Doug) Foreman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Thomas Chester.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, 44090 beginning at 11 am where services will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Huntington Twp. Cemetery with military honors. The family requests that donations in Richard’s honor may be made to the charity of their choice.
