Marilyn Ruth Cooley

Marilyn Ruth Cooley, 80, of Greenwich, died Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Fisher Titus Medical Center. Born on May 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Erwin and Helen (nee Berthold) Wolfram. Marilyn grew up in Avon before moving to New London in 1979.  

Marilyn had worked for Beckett Corp, Stanadyne, and Kent Sporting Goods, but her true passion was as a foster mother. She attended Rochester Baptist Church for many years and recently had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Norwalk. Marilyn had a talent for remodeling old homes.  

Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Martha) Griffith, Kerry Griffith, Kimberly (David) Cawrse, and Curtis Griffith, Shayne Cooley, Darren Cooley, and Maurice Cooley; daughter-in-law, Carol Griffith; grandchildren, Timothy, Rebecca, and Carrie Marie; and siblings Pat Farren, JoAnn Wolfram, and Jim Wolfram. Marilyn was preceded in death by her son Lloyd Keith Griffith, granddaughter, Elizabeth Griffith; and siblings Edward and Steven Wolfram.
