Lois Zula Leininger Lang, 80 of Ashland, died on March 28, 2020. She was born on January 12, 1940 at home in Huntington, Ohio to the late Hart and Dorothy (Beam) Leininger. Lois was a 1958 graduate of Sullivan High School where she was valedictorian of her class. She attended Ashland College receiving her Bachelor in Science and West Virginia University where she received her Master’s Degree in Education.
Lois was a teacher in Columbia Station, Ontario, Medina, Huntington, and Pennsboro, West Virginia where she retired. Lois was a member of 4-H and taught Sunday school. She later belonged to the Lois Club.
Survivors include children, Morgan (Karla) O’Donnell of New Mexico and Wade (Anita) Lang, of California; grandchildren, Siobhan, Colleen (Collin), Alex and Eric; siblings, Annabelle Leininger, Ardith Leininger Roberts and Roy (Sherrel) Leininger; caretaker, Jon Kerr and former husband and father of her children, Bill Lang. Lois was known as Aunt Gogi to nieces Dee Grant, Merrie Leininger; nephews, Mike, Rod and Rick Roberts and Jon Leininger. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Katherine. She leaves behind many students and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 10:00 at Huntington Cemetery with Rick Roberts to officiate. There will be a memorial service at a later date to be held at the Huntington School House.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Pathways Hospice, 1171 E. Main Street, Ashland, OH 44805. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the wonderful care provided by Pathways staff.
