Her laugh lit even the darkest room and her joy was uninhibited and infectious.
Linda Simmons, 54, lost her eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday February 17th, 2021. She was born on January 27, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lorain, OH.
Linda graduated from Admiral King High School in 1985. She worked at Invacare in Elyria, OH for 24 years, PT Services in Wellington, OH for two years and Gateway Industries in Elyria, OH for five years.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Merle Simmons; daughters Logan Simmons and Max Casero; grandchild Amatheia Adams; mother Betty (Joseph) Stefanik; siblings Cheryl Miller, Brenda (Dave) Bartock, Joseph (Margaret) Stefanik, Diane (Mitch) Witherell, Marilyn (Alfred) Zocchi and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Stefanik, in-laws Robert (Helen) Simmons, brother-in-law Russell (Heather) Simmons and her yellow labrador retriever Winnie Simmons.
Linda was a talented painter and baker, instilling her love for creating in her two children, Logan and Max. She will be remembered as loving, generous and vibrant to all she met.
Always learning new skills and taking on new challenges, Linda inspired those around her to always learn and grow. A fighter until the very end, Linda passed on her fierce tenacity and love of life to her two children.
A private service will be held at First Congregational Church in Wellington, OH. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced, and all attending will be asked to wear a mask. The service also will be live streamed by Norton-Eastman Funeral Home.
