Keith Bailey Obituary

Keith VanDyke Bailey went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 5:15 a.m. after a lengthy illness.  Born in Hartford, Connecticut to Harold and Barbara (VanDyke) Bailey on October 26, 1952.  He lived most of his life in Keene, New Hampshire working as a Chef in various resorts.  He moved to New London, Ohio and worked as a supervisor at Fraternal Supplies until he retired in 2007.  Keith was an ordained minister for the Fitchville Church of Christ.

Keith was a man of many talents and skills.  He was very active in the NRA and ORPA, serving terms as President and Secretary as well as coordinating and running youth shooting competitions and conceal carry classes out of Fitchville Conservation Club.  He spent time umpiring for baseball and softball even if he did call his son out on the fourth ball.  Keith went to Tufts University in Boston where he enjoyed doing theatrical make-up, using those skills to apply make-up for Halloween on his children and grandchildren, one of his favorite holidays.

Some of Keith’s favorite past times were cheering his grandkids during their sports and arguing with the refs.  He also loved to take them fishing and teach them how to fly fish.  Keith loved flowers and was very proud that the family flower shop was reopened by his children.

Keith was a loving husband to Gwen (Hale) Bailey, father to Monte (April) Maple and Monica McKean.  He was grandfather to Cody (Christian) McKean, Cooper McKean, Madilyn Maple and Mario Maple, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
