Judith Ann Smith, 81, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 10, 1938 in Mansfield, OH to the late James and Margaret (Veselosky) Marshall. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School in Mansfield. Judy and her loving husband Clarence celebrated 60 wonderful years together on Thanksgiving of this past year. She will be dearly missed by their children, Mark E. (Lydia) Smith of Cherry Hill, NJ, Kristi (Karl) Washburn of Huron, Deborah (James) Rhoad of Norwalk, Stasia Howell of Norwalk, Michael (Jennifer) Smith of Concord, NC and Jennifer (Christopher) Nagel of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Kayla, Jessica, Samantha, Benjamin, Jacob, Sarah, Rachael, Julia, Spencer, Quentin, Catie, Megan, Brandon, Leah and Alyssa; great grandchildren, Tomasina and William. She was a loving sister of, Susan (Robert) Lamb, Helen Marshall and the late Rita Wilner, Margaret “Peggy” (Ralph) Bonanata and James (Patricia) Marshall Jr.
Judith was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk. She was instrumental in the origins of the St Paul Parish Festival and had led the Bingo committee for nearly 30 years. She was very family oriented and enjoyed cooking, a good fish fry, camping, art and painting and playing bridge and cards with friends and neighbors.
The Smith family will receive family and friends at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98. W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio on Sunday, July 12, 2020 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Out of respect of all attendees and to follow recent Ohio law, to be permitted inside, visitors are required to bring and wear a mask unless exempt (age 10 or under, or written doctor’s order). There will be a limited amount of people permitted inside the funeral home at one time and social distancing is required. Visitors should be prepared for the possibility of waiting outside the funeral home in case of a crowd until adequate social distancing becomes possible again. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk, with burial to follow in St Paul Catholic Cemetery.
