Judith L. Oswalt, 77, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation following a long illness. She was born on August 14, 1943 to the late Louise (Lemke) and Franklin Tretter.
She graduated from Wakeman High School in 1961, and attended beauty school shortly after. Over the years, Judy worked at Norther Ohio Telephone, West Baking (now New Horizons), General Elastomer, Sheller Globe Corporation, and retired from Clevite. She also enjoyed working as a home interiors consultant.
Judy was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk, Ohio, where she sang for many years in the church choir. She also enjoyed singing in the Sandusky Choral society, the Northern Buckey Chapter of the Sweet Adeline’s, and Towne and Country Players. Judy was a cat lover, a super fan of the Cleveland Indians, and committed bingo player at the nursing home.
Survivors include her children, Tom Oswalt and Shelley (Randy) Egan; grandchildren, Jason Downing and Amanda Reichley; sister, Jackie Baum; and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bob Baum.
Judy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation for 14 years of love and care that they gave Judy.
Her family is holding a memorial visitation on Saturday July 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 with inurnment at the scattering gardens to follow.
