John William Francisco, 84, of Norwalk, passed away early Saturday morning, January 14, 2023, at Kingston of Vermilion rehabilitation.
John was born on January 13, 1939, in Olena, OH to the late Forrest and Helen (Martin) Francisco. John graduated from Norwalk High School and was drafted into the United States Army. He was a dedicated employee for 43 years at Norwalk Furniture, retiring as Vice President of Manufacturing. John was the past President of the American Furniture Manufacturer’s Association; Treasurer and Show Coordinator for the Norwich Terrier Club of Chicago; Show Chair for the Norwich Terrier Club of America; Norwich Terrier Supported Entry Coordinator for Kentuckiana Cluster Dog Shows, and Location Coordinator for the 1977 and 1979 World Coon Hunt, held in Norwalk, OH. John took pride in keeping an immaculate yard and would help neighbors with their yardwork as well. His greatest passion was showing dogs, which he did with great success over a 60-year career, making AKC champions of several Great Danes and Norwich Terriers.
John is survived by his loving wife, Elsie (Twitchell) Francisco, whom he married in 1960; daughter, Kelly (David) Foos of Norwalk; grandchildren, Jamison, and Caden; sister, Janet Hancock of Norwalk, and brother, Wayne Francisco of Norwalk.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Yvonne Brummit, Clara Anderson, and Karen Striker.
In accordance with John’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held at this time. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
