Jeannette Louise Zubrick

Jeannette Louise Zubrick, 92, formerly of Wellington, died on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Tapestry Senior Living Center. Born on July 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Burt and Ethel (nee Seeley) Wise. Jeannette spent most of her life in Wellington before moving to Tallahassee, FL.

She was involved in several organizations and volunteer services, including a charter member and past president of the Wellington Eagles Post No. 2051 Women’s Auxiliary, a 50 year member and past president of Lillywood Rebekah Lodge, and past president of the Wellington Women’s Democratic Club. Jeannette also volunteered for the Life Share Community Blood Service for 45 years. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington and served meals to senior citizens for Well-Help. Jeanette was selected to the Wellington Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1993 and served as their past president. For 38 years, she was also a poll worker for the Lorain County Board of Elections . In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, bike riding and walking.

Jeannette leaves behind her son, Frank (Margaret) Zubrick, of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Shelley (Dave) Deakins and Brad Zubrick and great grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, Ashley and Kelton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Sam Zubrick and brother, Raymond Haynes.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main Street, Wellington, 44090 with Rev. Cheryl Lindsay officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Life Share Community Blood Service, 710 Leona Street, Elyria, OH 44035 or to the Women’s Friendship Guild of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main Street, Wellington, OH 44090.
