Jean E. (LeRoy) Leak

Jean E. Leak, 90, of Norwalk, Ohio, died on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was born on January 24, 1931 to the late Helen (Arnold) and LeRoy Bedell.  

She was a lifelong resident of Norwalk, and graduated from Norwalk High School, where she was the head drum majorette. She was a parishioner at St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk. She enjoyed being a “pit crew mama” for her son’s motocross events, shopping, hang-gliding, gardening, and spending time with her family (especially her grandkids).  

Jean is survived by her children, Michael Leak, Terri (Herb) Snyder, and Lorri Shane; grandchildren, Cori Hoyt, Chelsey Kerchansky, Cassidy Keesee, Orre Shane, and Oakley Shane; and great-grandchildren, Camden Hoyt, Alex Hoyt, Keelyn Kerchansky, Odin Shane, Amirra Shane, Haley Keesee, Caiden Keesee, and Madison Keesee. 

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Leak; son, Jon Leak; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Leak.  

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Jean’s funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, with inurnment to follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitors are required to bring and wear a mask during the visitation and mass and are encouraged to follow all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines. For those unable to attend, the funeral mass will be livestreamed at https://www.stpaulchurch.org/
