Jared Stephen Shepherd

Jared Stephen Shepherd, 30, lost his battle with addiction on Friday, June 19, 2020.  Jared never gave up hope to be free and we pray if you are addicted or have a family member that is, don’t give up on them.  There is hope. We have seen some people recover.  His family and friends will remember him for his kindness, loyalty, witt, and smile.  He was born in Norwalk, OH on January 18, 1990 and lived most of his life in the New London, OH area.  He loved California and Arizona and lived there for a few years. 

Jared was baptized at the age of 11 and attended the New London Alliance Church, where he was active in youth group and quiz.  He had many happy memories there with his Christian Family.  He attended Tri-County Christian School and then N.L.H.S. where he graduated in 2008.  Jared was active in athletics and was an excellent student.  He attended the University of Cincinnati and BGU at Firelands.  Jared enjoyed video games and computers.   Jared was a huge Ohio State fan.  

After a serious accident at the age of 17, Jared developed the addiction that he fought against for the rest of his life.  Jared was supported by his loving parents Stephen and Susan (Morrow) Shepherd, and immediate family; sister and brother in law, Megan and Jeremiah Jones and a nephew, Shepherd Jones of Minnesota; and his beloved grandmother, Almas (Mo) Meade-Shepherd.

Family will receive friends at the Fitchville Cemetery on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 7:30 P.M. until the graveside Celebration of Life service at 8:00 PM.   At the conclusion of the service a gathering will be held back at the Stephen and Susan Shepherd’s home.   In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tourette Association of America, 42-40 Bell Boulevard, Suite 205, Bayside, NY 11361.   You are encouraged to share your condolences and memories of Jared with the family by visiting www.eastmanfuneralhome.com .
