James Boss Obituary

James Paul Boss, 69, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020 in Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, Ohio.  He was born to the late Paul and Mary (Williams) Boss on March 23, 1951 in Oberlin, Ohio and lived most of his life in Rochester, Ohio and Wakeman, Ohio. Jim graduated from New London High School and attended Lorain County Community College.

He worked for Ben Hogan Golfballs in Elyria, Ohio, Circon ACMI in Norwalk, Ohio, Mack Industries in Valley City, Ohio, and Boss Pro-Karting in Brookpark, Ohio.  Jim enjoyed collecting Lionel Trains, unique hats, matchbook covers, coins, and he loved music.  Jim played in a band called The Grape with his brother for many years, but his greatest joy came from being around his children and grandchildren as well as spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Pamela (Bilton) Boss of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Dawn (Brian) Detterman of Findlay, Ohio, and Adam (Sarah) Boss of Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Aidan, Anna and Allie Detterman and Clara and Tyler Boss.  He is also survived by his siblings, Jean (John) Copley of Wellington, Ohio, and Steve (Andi) Boss of New London, Ohio, by his mother and father-in-law, Eugene and Norma Bilton of Sandusky, Ohio, by his sister-in-law, Vickie Maynard of Redlands, California, and by his brothers-in-law, Dennis (Debbie) Bilton of Alta Loma, California and Rodney Bilton of Perrysburg, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Grace Williams and Paul and Irene Boss.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation or services at this time, and a celebration of life is planned for a later date. A private interment will be held at Hartland Ridge Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Dussel Drive, Suite 150, Maumee, Ohio 43537 or Heartland Hospice, 907 W. State Street, Fremont, Ohio 43420.
