Harry Stoddard Obituary

Harry F. Stoddard, 86, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Gaymont Nursing Care.  He was born on June 20, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Wilbur and Alma (Rohde) Stoddard.  Harry was a Norwalk High School graduate who served his country proudly as part of the United States Marine Corps. 

He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Buckeyes fan who had been a volunteer fireman in the 1960’s before his many years with Tenneco, where he retired.  Harry was a member of the Norwalk Eagles 711, Legion Post 41, and V.F.W. 2743. 

Survivors include his daughters, Michelle (Tom Moehle) Lesch, Dyann (Kevin Weimer) Ward, Teri Austin and Tracy (Mark) Boswell all of Norwalk; brother, George Stoddard; sister, Helen Liddington; grandchildren, Angi Lesch, Derek and Carly Ward, Max and Owen Austin, Ali (Ryan) Stover, Dakota (Elizabeth) Boswell; great grandchildren, Mia Lynn Stover, Sophia Boswell and Kaleb Stover.

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife Eileen (Plue) Stoddard; sister, Jane Elizabeth and brother, Walter. 

Harry’s girls cordially invite friends and family to enjoy a Bud Light in his honor on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Norwalk Eagles 711, 151 Cline Street, where a celebration of his life will be held beginning at 3 P.M.   Military honors will take place at the club as well.  Memorial contributions may be made to Huron County Veteran Services, 185 Shady Lane Drive, Suite C., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.  Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com
