Gerald E Stackhouse

Gerald E. Stackhouse, 82, of Ashland, was welcomed to Heaven by Jesus on Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home.  He was born September 1, 1939, in Ashland to the late Cecil (Fishpaw) and Louie Stackhouse.  Mr. Stackhouse was a graduate of Savannah High School, Class of 1957.  Gerald served 6 years as a member of the Army Reserve Unit out of Plymouth, OH.  In 2000 he retired from the State Highway Patrol as a motor vehicle inspector.  Gerald’s true love was owning and operating Clear Creek Nursery for over 60 years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Savannah and enjoyed going to car shows. 

Mr. Stackhouse is survived by his wife, Loretta G. (Byron) Stackhouse, whom he married September 30, 1967, and together they shared 54 years of marriage; 3 children, Mark (Dawn) Stackhouse, Tricia Malmut and Andrea (Rick) Dumolt; 4 grandchildren, Grant and Craig Malmut, and Elizabeth and Daniel Dumolt; 2 siblings, Vina Miller and Paula (Roger) Drake.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Wilma Jane Metcalf and Phillip Stackhouse.   

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, from 9-11 AM at the Bethel Baptist Church, 575 US 250 N, Savannah, Ohio 44874 with services beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Bouquet officiating.  The Staff of the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, Ohio 44851 assisted the family with arrangements and memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church or Sunshine Home Care, 320 Pleasant Street, Ashland, OH 44805.  Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
