Gary Shafer Obituary

Gary Ray Shafer (59) of Willard died Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his home.  He was born February 6, 1961 in Willard to the late Catherine (Schultz) and Henry R. Shafer Sr.  Gary loved working on cars, carpentry, fishing, hunting and playing cards, but his true passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.   

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years: Karen (Holmer) Shafer of Willard, daughter: Sonya (Frank) Diebert of Willard, son: Brandon Ray Shafer of Willard, daughter: Holly (Josh) Daiber of Woodruff, SC, 6 grandchildren: Logan, Caleb, Ethan, Autumn, Dominic and Lilith, 4 brothers: Richard, Robert (Imogene), John (Pat) and Paul (Bridget) Shafer, all of Willard, and 4 sisters: Shirley Jones, Peggy Dull and Sharon Combs and Janice (Mike) Shepherd, all of Willard, along with several nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Charles and Henry Shafer Jr and 2 sisters: Karen Louise Shafer and Connie Jones.  

Friends may call 1-4 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Church of the Nazarene, 4414 Townline Road 12 West, Willard with a Celebration of Life service at 4:00 P.M.  The Staff of the Eastman Funeral home, 49 W.
