Ella Marie Hunter

Ella Marie Hunter, 72, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2020 at Fisher Titus Medical Center. She was born on March 3, 1948 in Brownsville, PA to the late James W. and Henrietta B. (Arrison) Shaw.

Ella enjoyed gardening , cooking and spending time with her friends and family. To all who knew her, she was friendly and thoughtful. She was deeply loved and will be missed.  

Ella attended The Chapel in Norwalk and had been a member of the Norwalk, VFW, Eagles and the New London “Golden Agers” clubs. She had worked for Kent Sporting Goods in New London and the former Olena General Store. She retired from Epic Technologies, where she inspected and repaired circuit boards. 

Survivors include her sons, Clinton (Pamela Phillips) Rice and Shawn Rice both of Norwalk; grandson, James Farmer; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Francis (Andrea) Shaw of Brownsville, PA, Edward (Lori) Shaw of Pittsburgh, PA, Michael (Judy) Shaw of Republic, PA and Susan Shaw of East Millsboro, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. “Bobby” Hunter in 2004 and siblings, Daniel Shaw, Joan McDonald, James Shaw, Virginia Kusch and Edith Auman.    

A visitation will be held at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring and wear a mask, and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines. A limited amount of people will be permitted inside at a time to allow for adequate distancing. Visitors to the funeral home should be prepared for the possibility of waiting outside at times, in case of a crowd until social distancing becomes possible again. A private service for the immediate family will be held following the visitation followed by a burial in Olena Cemetery. Those unable to attend the visitation are encouraged to share online memories and condolences by visiting: www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com.
