Diane Kay Walcher, 78, of North Fairfield, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born on March 1, 1944 in Oberlin, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha (nee Bartley) Rahauser. Diane grew up in Wakeman and was a 1962 graduate of Western Reserve High School.
Diane was a talented crafter and enjoyed quilting, knitting, and needle work, as well as painting and working with ceramics. She was passionate about giving her time, volunteering with Fisher-Titus Hospital and especially Abigail Pregnancy. Diane was an active, long time member of the Word of Grace Church and she enjoyed fellowship with her Christian friends, both those in her own congregation and those in others. Most of all Diane cherished time with her family, and she especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Neil; children, Chris (Michelle) Walcher, Daren (Amanda) Walcher, and Becky (Ryan) Hintz, all of North Fairfield; grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, Alli, Evan, Anna, Kara, Emily, and Lorin; and great grandchildren, Jaxson, Dawson, and Emmarie.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 19, from 4-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St, New London, and again on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. burial will follow at North Fairfield Cemetery.
