Danny Orren Gallatin Sr.

Danny Orren Gallatin Sr., 71, of Wellington, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. Born on May 21, 1950 in Bellevue, Ohio, he was the son of the late Eula (nee Peeples) and Harry Gallatin. He was a graduate of Beaufort High School in South Carolina.

Danny retired from Aztec Steel Corporation, where he was a fabricator.  He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Delta Waterfowl Conservation Group, which was dedicated to saving the wetlands. In his high school years, he was a talented athlete, excelling in track and field, where he held records for high hurdles, and was quarterback of the football team. One of his favorite memories was driving with Richard Petty and Dale Earnhart Sr. back in his racing days. He was a jokester at times, who thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his 4x4, and working on cars and trucks. He could make anything with 2 pieces of steel and a welding rod.  Most importantly, he cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren and his dogs.

Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Robin (nee Marks) Gallatin; children, Brandy (Jerod) Kidd, of Chicago and Danny (Christina) Gallatin Jr., of Homerville; grandchildren, Leland Orren and Waylen Drake Gallatin, and his dogs, Barbie and Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main Street, Wellington, 44090, from 3-5 p.m. where services will begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Tom Alexander officiating.  To best keep everyone as safe as possible, guests are asked to observe all current COVID19 suggested best practices and guidelines.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Danny’s memory me be given to the Lorain County Humane Society, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
