Clive Michael Nagy, 84, of Wellington, died June 6, 2021. Born in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Michael and Ethel (nee Varga) Nagy. Clive resided in Avon for 31 years and in Wellington for the past 28 years.
Clive graduated from Cathedral Latin High School, earned his BS from the University of Notre Dame, and an MBA from Kent State University. He was employed for 45 years by the Cleveland Trust Company, through many mergers and name changes, retiring as Vice-President of Corporate Trust. Clive was a Board member of Bay View Hospital and St. John Westshore, serving as Chairman of the Board for 2 years. He served as an Avon Councilman-at-large, as well as the treasurer of the Southern Lorain County Historical Society for many years. Clive also volunteered with AARP as a tax preparer for 14 years. He was a member of the Midwest Scottish Deerhound Club and the Scottish Deerhound Club of America.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Georgina Nagy; children, Alan Nagy, Gwendolyn (John) Duffy, Thomas and Andrew Nagy, and daughter-in-law, Melanie; grandchildren Erin and Ian Duffy. Clive was preceded in death by his son Charles, and sister, Cynthia Seton.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 11, at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, 512 North Main, Wellington, beginning at 11 a.m. A private burial will take place at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Avon at a later date.
