Norwalk, Ohio – Carl G. Neuberger, 91 of Norwalk, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1928 to the late Julius and Jeanette (Kemper) Neuberger in Norwalk, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School and he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Carl was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, and Firelands V.F.W. Post 2743 in Norwalk, Ohio. He owned and operated Neuberger Brothers with his brother, Daniel, drilling gas and water wells for many years, and he worked for 15 years as a custodian for Huron County, retiring in 1999. Carl enjoyed gardening, planting trees and listening to the oldies on his vintage record player. Most of all, he loved to spend his time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Thomas C. (Candie) Neuberger of Norwalk, Ohio, and Susan “Su” J. (Russ) Thompson of Tiffin, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Jacob T. and Eric L. Neuberger, and Leah M. and Benjamin D. Thompson, and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, June E. (Chambers) Neuberger in 2010, and by his siblings, Robert and Daniel Neuberger.
Friends may call on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, where services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor James McClain will officiate.
