Burnice R. Brummitt, 86, of New London, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. He was born on November 24, 1934 to the late Nancy “Delfia” and George Brummitt.
In 1953, Burnice graduated from Irvington High School in Virginia. He worked for Ford Motor Company for just over 30 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member on the Norwalk Moose Club and the Norwalk Eagles where he served as a past president. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, visiting Attica Speedway, and tinkering with his corvette and anything he could find. Burnice was very caring and had a passion for helping others. He loved life, his wife, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Brummitt; children, Dennis (Nikki) Brummitt, Tony Brummitt, and Tim (Missy) Stewart; grandchildren, Amy Brummitt, Elizabeth (Brad) Brummitt, Sam Anderson, and Dustin (Ashley) Brummitt; great-grandchildren, Heavynn, Milo and another on the way; siblings, Bobby (Shirley) Brummitt, Eldon “Pete” (Janice) Brummitt, Willard (Linda) Brummitt, and Janice (Maury) Redford; many nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Burnice is preceded in death by his son, Mark Brummitt; grandchild, Stanley Brummitt; and siblings, Ange Ritchie and Retta Souza.
His family will receive guests at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visitors are required to bring and wear a mask or face covering while in the funeral home. The funeral home has a limited capacity, so visitors should be prepared to wait outside.
