Bernard A. “Bernie” Squire, 59, of Wellington, died Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the Justin T. Roger Care Center Hospice in Akron. Born on May 12, 1960 in Lodi, he was the son of Bernard “Bud” and Eloise (nee Browand) Squire. Bernie grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Buckeye High School.
Bernie worked in maintenance with Sears and K-Mart. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as playing video games and poker games with friends. Most of all Bernie cherished time with his family. He was dearly loved by many and will be remembered for his spirit of generosity and his infectious smile.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 26 years, Pamela (nee Hill) Squire; his mother Eloise Squire, of Litchfield; siblings Elaine Myers, of Medina, Terry (Dena) Squire, of Medina, and Glenn (Carolyn) Squire, of Valley City; brother-in-law, Clyde Calvert; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Bud Squire, sister, Linda Calvert, and brother-in-law, John Myers.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 12:30 pm to 9 pm at Wellington Metroparks, 525 Jones Road, Wellington, OH 44090. Donations in Bernie’s memory may be given to the Medina Oncology Department, Project Purple, or to the Justin T. Roger Care Center.
