Oraceleaine S. Adkins, 96, of New London, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Brethren Care Village in Ashland. He was born on August 27, 1923 in Lincoln County, WV and was the son of the late Adie (nee Purdue) and Gordon Adkins.
Oraceleaine proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII from November 1943 to February 1946, and then reenlisted from December 1950 to December 1953 during the Korean War before being honorably discharged. He later moved to Elyria with his family. He worked for Dwayne Mills at Sewline and retired from CMC Buckeye in masonry. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving children, Elaine (Albert) Thompson, Robert Adkins, Marian (Michael) Hreha, Kathy Adkins and William (Cindi) Adkins; grandchildren, David, Renee, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Joshua, Katie, Jacob, Jared, Robert and Rachel, and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (nee Wheeler) Adkins; son, Phillip Edward Adkins; granddaughter, Rebecca Adkins and 4 sisters.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, October 7 at 11 a.m. at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin with military honors
