John Edward Prushinski, 79, a lifelong resident of the Norwalk area, died Friday, September 6, 2019 at Metro Health from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born on February 11, 1940 in Norwalk, he was the son of the late Henry Parker and Elizabeth (nee Strimpfel) Cole.
John, known by his CB handle “Hillbilly Pollock”, was a trucker, and had driven for Milky Way Farms, Messenburg Brothers Trucking, MJ Miller Trucking and Zeiter Trucking. He also drove for several Mennonite families. He enjoyed model trains, and was a member of the Monroeville Model Train Club. John liked to spend time out outdoors, fishing and working in garage. Most of all John cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Nina (nee Knott); daughters Nina E. (Aaron) Kirk, of Winter Park, FL, and Rebecca S. Adams, of Klamath Falls, OR; grandchildren Jeffery, Douglas, Joshua, Nickolas, Ginger, Donovan, and Nicole; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 12, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main St, Norwalk, 44857 with services beginning at 7 p.m., Pastor Jeff Watson, officiating.
