Edwin F. Brasee, 81, of Wellington passed away at Cleveland Clinic Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after a brief but courageous battle. He was born in Elyria, Ohio on August 8, 1938.
Prior to retirement, Ed was a successful crop and dairy farmer in the Pittsfield area and later in the Brighton area, he then worked for the village of Wellington for 17 years. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles, former Kipton Elevator board member and part of the Wednesday night Eagles golf league. Ed’s great joy in life was his large and growing family, keeping up with the area farm news and activities, and frequent trips to Dairy Queen with his wife, Ellen. He loved people and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Almost daily, and even after his leg amputation, Ed kept busy cutting wood for family members. He valued hard work, honesty and family.
Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellen (nee Mull) and 4 children, Dan Brasee (wife, Tina), Sue Amstutz (husband, Jim), Bob Brasee (wife, Connie), and Joe Brasee (wife, Heidi). Ed and Ellen have 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ed is also survived by brothers, LeRoy and Jerry Brasee as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Loretta (nee Sugaski ) and youngest brother, John Brasee.
