Dennis Gordon Stower, 70, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. He was born on January 21, 1949 in Norwalk to the late Robert C. and Mildred (Sweet) Stower. Dennis was a 1967 Norwalk High School graduate and had attended Toledo University before joining the U.S. Army Reserves.
He had worked for Gould Southern and Ridge Tools as an engineer and later for the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he retired as a traffic and safety analyst.
Dennis was a member of the Norwalk Ohio V.F.W. Post #2743, Norwalk Eagles 711 and Isaak Walton League, Monroeville. He was a former Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster, commissioner and council member, and recipient of the coveted “Dual Palmed” Eagle Scout Award and God and Country Award.
He loved old cars, especially 1964 Mercury Comets, sprint car races, “Friday morning breakfast with the guys” and enjoyed helping others. He also loved listening to Jan and Dean.
Survivors include, his children: Jason Gordon Stower of Florida, Tiffanie Dae (COL John) Pelleriti of Florida and Dustin Gordon Stower of Florida; grandchildren: Kai, Bryce and Gage Pelleriti of Florida; brothers: Robert (Linda) Stower of Monroeville, James Stower of Milan and Craig (Carol) Stower of Findlay; nieces: Paige (Bill) Foltz, Amy Jo and K.C.; nephew: Zachary Stower; and great niece: Emma Foltz and numerous special cousins
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Stower. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Gordon and Lois Stower who helped raise him.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2020 at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the 12:30 P.M. service with Pastor Jim McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Milan Cemetery.
