Clyde Theodore Nehrenz, 89, of Sullivan, died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. Born in Lakewood on September 3, 1930, he was a son of the late Dr. J.W. and Gertrude (nee Glawe) Nehrenz. He was a graduate of Concordia High School in Ft. Wayne, Indiana before proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army.
Clyde owned and operated Nehrenz Painting for 43 years, retiring in 2005. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Huntington Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth (nee Nickel) Nehrenz; children, Rev. David (Kathy) Nehrenz, Thomas (Sheila) Nehrenz, Linda Goldman, Tina (Rev. Larry) Matro, Kathryn (Kevin) Zellers, Carol (Harry) Bailey, John (Sharon) Nehrenz and Dawn (Michael) Moon; 31 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ethel Nehrenz, Marjorie Hoffmeyer, John Nehrenz, Harold Nehrenz, Norma Strucely and Bob Nehrenz.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Huntington Township Cemetery. A memorial service will be Saturday,
November 9 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 231 E. Hamilton Street, Wellington with Dale Heulsman officiating. All are invited to a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, the Nehrenz family suggests donations to Bethany Lutheran Church or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, PO Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192.
