Charles Calvin Miller, age 65, of New London, Ohio died on August 3, 2019 in Cleveland, Ohio following a year-long battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1953, the son of Veta (nee Odell) Miller and Arthur Miller.
Charles was a graduate of Western High School in Detroit, MI and has lived in Detroit, MI, Lincoln Park, MI, Elyria, OH and finally New London where he made his home. Charles retired in early 2019 from the Ford Motor Company as a furnace operator. He was a member of the UAW. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He could always be found working on various projects around the house and doing farm work. In his down time he enjoyed watching sports.
Charles is survived by his wife, Roseann Miller and together they shared 43 years of marriage. He is survived by daughters, Theresa (Jeff) Akers, Donna Woody (Tony Fernandez), Stacy (Ron) Thacker, Elizabeth (Jason) Weaver, April (Aaron) Woody, son, Charles C. Miller Jr., and 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister, Wonedith “Bunny” Miller and his father and step mother, Arthur and Helene Miller. Charles was preceded in death by his mother and her companion, Veta Miller and Douglas Brown, a brother, Arthur Dean Miller and great-granddaughter Chloe Ann Thacker.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main Street, New London, OH 44851, where the Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff, Rita Dawson, and Mary Crenshaw at Glenbeigh for their help through a very difficult time.
