Norwalk, Ohio – Ronald L. Beck, 72, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 212, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born December 14, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, and lived most of his life in this area.
Ron was a farmer, and was a member of, and worked out of, Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall #33 of Lorain, Ohio. He was the caretaker of Camp Singing Bird, Girl Scouts of America from 1976 to 1996. Ron enjoyed yard work, baking cookies, and especially enjoyed giving a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his children, Kelly C. (Sarah) Beck of Collins, Ohio, and Deborah L. Beck (Peter Welch) of Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Hannah, Colin, Aiden, and Max, and by his mother, Eleanore (Esch) Beck of Bonita Springs, Florida. Ron is also survived by his siblings, Barbara J. (Gerald) Sweeting of Thousand Oaks, California, Patricia (James) Sweeting, of Estero, Florida, Susan (Dennis) Magill of North Fairfield, Ohio, and Gordon (Pam) Beck of Cape Coral, Florida, and by his friend and former wife, Kathy Carleton of Norwalk, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur “Leonard” Beck.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Chaplain Mel Sayler of Stein Hospice Service will officiate. Inurnment will be in Steuben Cemetery.
