Jacksonville, Florida – Monica J. (Fritz) Waber, 58, of Jacksonville, Florida, and formerly of Collins, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 in Green Cove Springs, FL. She was born June 18, 1959 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late John J. and Anne A. (Bruggeman) Fritz, and has lived in Jacksonville, Florida since 1995.
Monica was a 1977 graduate of Western Reserve High School, and attended Firelands Campus of Bowling Green State University. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, was a volunteer at the Women’s Help Center in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Monica is survived by her husband of 37 years, John Waber of Jacksonville, Florida, by her children, Amanda (Tung) Nguyen of Folsom, California, Andrew Waber of Tallahassee, Florida, and James Waber of Tallahassee, Florida, and by two grandsons, Daniel and Logan Nguyen.
She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Anne (Richard) Fletcher Jr. of Collins, Ohio, Anne Fritz of St. Petersburg, Florida, Julie (Mark) Marshall of Westlake, Ohio, Roseanne (Ron) Garrison, and Martha Fritz of Collins, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews.
Monica was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Waber, in 1980, by her brothers, John Fritz in 1956, Thomas Fritz in 1966, and Michael Fritz in 2005, and by her sisters, Joan Fritz in 1997 and Suzanne Frederick in 2012.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Fr. Nick Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be in Hartland Ridge Cemetery.
