Greenwich, Ohio – John H. Clevenger, 82, of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, in the Willows of Willard, Ohio. He was born May 29, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Sylves M. and Ruth (McClure) Clevenger, and was a lifelong resident of New London, Fitchville, and Greenwich areas.
John attended New London High School, and retired in 1997 from the Gorman Rupp Company of Mansfield, Ohio. He was a former employee of the Akron Standard Mold Company of Greenwich, Ohio. John enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia A. (James) Sparr of Willard, Ohio, John M. (Janet) Clevenger of Leeland, North Carolina, and Janet E. (Frank) Schaffer of Greenwich, Ohio, by 2 grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Rook) Clevenger in 2009, and by his sister, Clara Adams of Chester, West Virginia in 2017.
Friends may call on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Mark Wireman will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
