Robert E. Kohlmeyer

 Norwalk, Ohio – Robert E. Kohlmeyer, 90, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, in Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, Ohio. Bob was born on May 29, 1927, to the late Emil F. and Augusta F. (Yaeger) Kohlmeyer, in Norwalk, Ohio where he was a lifelong area resident.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, in Norwalk, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea, 1st Calvary division, 7th Regiment, B Company, receiving many medals, including a purple heart and a bronze star. Bob was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2743, Norwalk, Ohio, The American Legion post 41, Norwalk, Ohio, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 711, Norwalk, Ohio, and was so proud to have served his country.

He was a former employee of Price Construction Company, and retired from the City of Norwalk in 1989, where he worked as a superintendent. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing yard work, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his sons, John “Jack” R. Kohlmeyer, Timothy, Michael Kohlmeyer, and Thomas E. Kohlmeyer, all of Norwalk, by his daughter, Terry J. (Jeffrey) Rule, of Ooltewah, Tennesee, by his 3 grandchildren, by 1 great grand-daughter, and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Kohlmeyer, in 2014, and by his sister, Jean Crabbs.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 9:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Frederick J. “Fritz the Clown” Stanford

 Norwalk, Ohio – Frederick J. “Fritz the Clown” Stanford, 84, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born January 23, 1933 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Leslie L. and Mabel M. (Salabank) Stanford, and was a lifelong area resident.

Fred was a 1951 graduate of Norwalk High School, and attended Oberlin Business College. He was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, and was a 60 year member and past master of Mt. Vernon Lodge #64, Norwalk, Ohio. Fred was well known as “Fritz the Clown” and had been clowning since 1961. He was a member of the Clown Club of North West Ohio.

Fred was a former member of the Shoe String Players, and was a former usher at the Norwalk Theatre. In his youth he worked at the Isaly’s Ice Cream Shop, and had also worked at Fanny Farmer Candy Company, the Norwalk Reflector, and was a crossing guard for the Norwalk Police Department. Fred enjoyed Norwalk history, Ohio State Football, and Norwalk and St. Paul High School Football.

He is survived by his children, Martha Ann (Jerry) Perry of Norwalk, Ohio, and Mark L. Stanford of Norwalk, Ohio, by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Stanford in 2009, by his sister, Margaret Hazelwood, by his step sister, Francis Joseph, and by a step grandchild.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Brian Oglesbee will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Jude Isaac Alge

 Okemos, Michigan – Jude Isaac Alge, age 17, formerly of Norwalk, Ohio passed away December 18, 2017 at home in Okemos, Michigan. He was born June 21, 2000 in Norwalk Ohio to Brian & Erin (Endsley) Alge.

Jude attended St. Paul schools for 11 years and was currently a Senior at Okemos High School in Okemos, Michigan. He enjoyed politics, current events, and was considered a computer whiz. He was known for his unique quiet sense of humor.

Jude is survived by his parents & brother’s, Tyler Alge (Annie), Caleb Endsley (Jayla), Gabriel and Karli Alge. He is also survived by maternal grandparents, William & Linda Zureich, Michael & Linda Endsley, by paternal grandparents, Richard & Elizabeth Alge, and nephew Paxon Alge. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jude will be greatly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Msgr. Teddy E. McClaran

 Norwalk, Ohio – Teddy E. McClaran, 95, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 in the Stein Hospice Inpatient Unit, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born February 9, 1922 in Schreve, Ohio, to the late Otto T. and Ilah Mae (Bevington) McClaran, and came to this area in 1971 from Mansfield, Ohio.

Ted was a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II in France. He was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, where he was a former trustee, chairman of the church council, sang in the choir, was a member of the communion committee, and had also served as the maintenance man for many years, and will be greatly missed.

He was also a member of American Legion Post #67 of Shreve, Ohio, and Ebenezer Lodge #33 F. & A.M. of Wooster, Ohio. Ted was a former employee of the Tiffin Roller Bearing Company, and retired in 1985 from Columbia Gas of Ohio.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Irwin of Norwalk, Ohio, and Geneva Foster of Columbus, Indiana, by 3 grandchildren, 10, great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Martha J. McClaran, November 9, 2017, by his brother, Charles McClaran in 2001, by his sister, Beryl Baker in 1995, and by two grandchildren, Karey Foster, and Robin Collins, and by his son in law, Gary Irwin.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Brian Oglesbee will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, Ohio, at a later date.

Loretta M. Snow

 Norwalk, Ohio – Loretta M. Snow, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, in Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born to the late Harry A. and Madeline (Schnell) Nofzinger, on March 27, 1948, in Norwalk, Ohio.

Loretta lived in Tampa, Florida, for many years, where she worked an administrative position for GTE, she also worked as a dispatcher for a trucking company and later worked as an insurance agent for Carabin Insurance, Norwalk, Ohio. Loretta enjoyed reading, listening to music, singing, shopping, and had a true love for animals, she especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, William M. Snow Sr., of Norwalk, Ohio, by her children, Delsie, C. (Donald) Resor, Sr., Victoria J. (Christopher) Wetzel Sr., of Norwalk, Ohio, William M. Snow. Jr., of Norwalk, Ohio, and Charles J. Snow, of Norwalk, Ohio, by her nieces and nephews, Donna (Mark) Dwyer, David Nofzinger, Diane (Tony) Pressly, Jerry (Debbie) Schloesser, Vicki (Marv) Linder, Roger (Anna) Schloesser, and by several great-nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, by her brother-in-law, Gerald Schloesser, by her sister-in-law, Eleanor (Robert) Hohman, and by her loving pets, Chewy, and Fluffy. Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Nofzinger, and her sister, Barbara L. Schloesser.

There will be no visitation, and a celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.

Hazel M. Missig

 Norwalk, Ohio – Hazel M. Missig, 97, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born October 16, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late James L. and Emma A. (French) McDougall, and came to this area in 2005 from Warren, Michigan.

Hazel was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Evangelical Church, Norwalk, Ohio, and retired as the Senior Administrative Assistant of the Warren Consolidated Schools of Warren, Michigan. She enjoyed gardening, playing euchre and pinochle, line dancing, the Detroit Tigers, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren on face book.

Hazel is survived by her children, Gail Pelletier of Milan, Ohio, Jerry (Maryjo) Missig of Frisco, Texas, and Gary (Joanne) Missig of Rochester, Michigan, and by her grandchildren, Kristen, Julie, Melissa, Jeremy, and Evan, and by 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward McDougall of Florida. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Gerald C. Missig in 2013, by her sister, Lorraine Herbert, and by her brothers, James McDougall and Bruce McDougall.

H. Wayne Allen

 Norwalk, Ohio – H. Wayne Allen, 89, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 in his home. He was born March 28, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Harry W. and Margaret (Richards) Allen, and lived in the Norwalk area for 68 years.

Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1946 to 1948, in Japan after the war, where he played trombone in the Army Band. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Wayne worked at Norwalk Parts for 25 years, was Norwalk’s first City School bus driver, and retired from Don Tester Ford, Norwalk, Ohio. Wayne was a member of the Norwalk Bowling Hall of Fame, enjoyed traveling, playing cards, playing softball, and singing karaoke. He also enjoyed writing poetry, and published several books of poems.

Wayne also enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and going to spring training. Wayne was a member of the 55 Club at St. Mary Catholic Church, Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, and the former Moose Lodge.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Louise C. (Ross) Allen, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his sons, James W. (Tammy) Allen, of Overland Park, Kansas, and William D. (Laurie) Allen, of Avon, Ohio.

He is also survived by his daughters, Pamela J. Derby, of Norwalk, Ohio, Catherine G. (John) Tucker, of Gahanna, Ohio, Judith L. (Rod) Sutherland, of New London, Ohio, and Susan M. (Rod) Wilson, of Norwalk, Ohio, by his grandchildren, Ken, Jennifer, Michael, Megan, Matt, Emily, Phillip, Alaina, Christa, Kelly, Zach, Ashley, Jake, Bailey, and Nate, by 11 great grandchildren and one on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, by his sisters, Norma Roberts, Meryl Conrad, and Beryl Allen, in infancy.

Janet L. Conaway

Willard, Ohio – Janet L. Conaway, 79, of Willard, Ohio, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, in her daughter’s home in Clyde, Ohio. She was born July 30, 1938 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Wayne J. and Dorothy (McLane) Durling, and lived in this area most of her life.

Janet was a member of the North Fairfield United Methodist Church, and a graduate of North Fairfield High School. She retired from the Norwalk Kmart with over 25 years of service. Janet was an avid sports and NASCAR fan, enjoyed countryside drives, and especially enjoyed her family.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia L. Dennewitz of Norwalk, Ohio, Timothy L. (Melanie) Conaway of Willard, Ohio, Bryan A. Conaway of North Fairfield, Ohio, Randall J. Conaway of North Fairfield, Ohio, and Constance S. (Russell) Fritz of Clyde, Ohio, 6 grandchildren, Amanda, Randall, Ashley, Nicole, Rusty, and Owen, and by 6 great grandchildren, Jonah, Adrian, Ari, Alana, Addy, and Ashlton .

Janet is also survived by her sisters, Thelma (Bernard) Rice of Norwalk, Ohio, and Phyllis (Earl Bauer), of Willard, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Conaway in 2008.

Anne A. Fritz

Westlake, Ohio – Anne A. Fritz, 87, of Westlake, Ohio, and formerly of Collins, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake, Ohio. She was born October 14, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Ondrej and Anna (Dvorsky) Harnis, and was raised by her parents, the late John B. “Barney” and Esther (Vale) Bruggeman.

Anne lived most of her life in this area. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Anne graduated from Bellevue High School in 1948, and from Bowling Green State University in 1989. She was a farmer, and a substitute teacher for many area schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and grandchildren.

Anne is survived by her children, Mary Anne (Richard) Fletcher, Jr., of Collins, Ohio, Monica (John) Waber, of Jacksonville, Florida, Anne Fritz (Ovuakporaye Okorefe), of St. Petersburg, Florida, Julie (Mark) Marshall, of Westlake, Ohio, Roseanne (Ron) Garrison, of El Paso, Texas, Martha Fritz of Norwalk, Ohio, and Lauren Fritz of Cleveland, Ohio, by 19 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Fritz in 1988, by her children, Suzanne Frederick in 2012, by Michael Fritz in 2005, Joan Fritz in 1997, Thomas Fritz in 1966, and John Fritz in 1956, and by her grandchildren Megan in 1989 and Matthew in 1980.

Greenwich, Ohio – John H. Clevenger, 82, of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017, in the Willows of Willard, Ohio. He was born May 29, 1935 in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Sylves M. and Ruth (McClure) Clevenger, and was a lifelong resident of New London, Fitchville, and Greenwich areas.

John attended New London High School, and retired in 1997 from the Gorman Rupp Company of Mansfield, Ohio. He was a former employee of the Akron Standard Mold Company of Greenwich, Ohio. John enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia A. (James) Sparr of Willard, Ohio, John M. (Janet) Clevenger of Leeland, North Carolina, and Janet E. (Frank) Schaffer of Greenwich, Ohio, by 2 grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Janet (Rook) Clevenger in 2009, and by his sister, Clara Adams of Chester, West Virginia in 2017.
