Kathleen A. Hacker

 Norwalk, Ohio – Kathleen A. Hacker, 65, of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away early Thursday morning, November 16, 2017 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1952 in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Harold J. and Doris L. (Dillingham) Kessler, and was a lifelong area resident.

Kathy was a 1970 graduate of Monroeville High School and E.H.O.V.E. Joint Vocational School. She attended the Chapel, South Campus, Norwalk, Ohio. Kathy was a former employee of Norwalk Furniture Company, retired from the G.E. Lamp Plant, and was a farm wife. She was a member of the Willard Moose Lodge #253, and Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio. Kathy enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and animals.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Fred H. Hacker of Greenwich, Ohio, by her sisters, Linda K. Kamann of Monroeville, Ohio, Janet (Rodney) Anderson of New London, Ohio, and Judy (Jay) Schaffer of Monroeville, Ohio, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Kessler in 2012, Eugene Kessler in 2015, and William F. Kessler in 2014, and by her brothers in law, Donald Kamann in 2013, and John Hacker in 2012.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville, Ohio.

James E. Bundren

 Norwalk, Ohio – James E. Bundren, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. He was born May 11, 1935 in Franklin, Ohio, to the late Henry and Mabel (Stiles) Bundren, and lived in this area most of his life.

Jim graduated from Monroeville High School. He was a member of Mt. Harvest Church of God, Milan, Ohio. Jim was a former truck driver for Ferrellgas, Chevron, and West Baking Company. He retired from Batesville Casket Company. Jim was a member of the Erie County Conservation Club, the Fitchville Rod and Gun Club, and the N.R.A. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and lawn work.

Jim is survived by his children, Pamela (Leandro) Castro of Norwalk, Ohio, Julia A. (Mark Roth) Hoyt of Clyde, Ohio, Thomas E. (Anna) Bundren of Norwalk, Ohio, Natalie Bundren (Scott Christman) of Norwalk, Ohio, Amy M. (Steve) Kramer of Norwalk, Ohio, Paul W. Bundren of Norwalk, Ohio, Tina L. Bundren of Norwalk, Ohio, and John A. (Julie) Bundren of Norwalk, Ohio, 19 grandchildren and one soon to be born, and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Dorsey of Omaha, Nebraska.

Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Bundren in 2001, and by his sisters, Betty Ranger and Mary Knittle.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Carl Woodyard, Pastor of Mt. Harvest Church of God will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Wayne D. Lortcher

 Sandusky, Ohio – Wayne D. Lortcher, 84, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, in Stein Hospice Service. Wayne was born to the late Andrew O. and Thelma (Balduff) Lortcher, on November 28, 1932, in Oxford Township, Ohio, and was a lifelong area resident.

Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of the VFW, Firelands Post #2743, Ken Bur Bell Post #41 American Legion, Eagles Aerie #711, and was a former member of the Mt. Vernon Lodge #64 & Grotto. He was a retired farmer, employed by Collins Elevator for 18 years, he then drove truck for Erie Blacktop until he retired in 1999. Wayne enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Winsome D. (Douglas) Sprowl, of Galloway, Ohio, by his grandsons, Justin (Sherita) Butler of Sandusky, Ohio, and Matthew Butler, of Columbus, Ohio by his great grandchildren Jazmin and Justin Butler, by his siblings, Paul Lortcher, of New London, Ohio, Andrew Lortcher, of North Carolina, LaVerne Nuthall, of Chokoloskee, Florida, Esther Strait, of North Carolina, and Velda Eskins, of North Carolina, and by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Doreen M. Lortcher, in 2009, by his great grand-daughter, Simone Butler, by his brother, Norman Lortcher, and by his sister, Alpha White.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio. Melvin Saylor will officiate.

Martha J. McClaran

 Norwalk, Ohio – Martha J. McClaran, 92, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Fisher Titus Medical Center. She was born December 5, 1924 in Lakeville, Ohio, to the late Charles B. and Harriet E. (Wachtel) Shearer and came to Norwalk, Ohio, in 1971 from Mansfield, Ohio.

Martha was a loving and dedicated member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wesleyan Circle, and the United Methodist Women. She coordinated the funeral luncheons at the church for many years, and was a co-coordinator of the Meals on Wheels program in Norwalk, Ohio. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #67 of Shreve, Ohio. Martha was a volunteer at Fisher-Titus Medical Center for many years, received the Pioneer Award from Meals on Wheels, and received the Service Award from the Norwalk Lions Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and fancy work.

Martha is survived by her husband of 74 years, Teddy E. McClaran of Norwalk, Ohio, by her daughters, Linda Irwin of Norwalk, Ohio, and Geneva (John) Foster of Columbus, Indiana, 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Karey Foster, and Robin Collins, by her brother, Harry Shearer, and by her sisters, Gladys Peebles, and Doris Himes, and by her son in law, Gary Irwin.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Memorial Services at 1:30 p.m. in the Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Gary Streiff will officiate.

Dale K. Hall

Norwalk, Ohio – Dale K. Hall, 77, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, Ohio. He was born March 2, 1940, in Champaign, Illinois, to the late Harold and Loretta (Rickey) Hall, and has lived most of his life in Ohio.

Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Roby Masonic Lodge #534, and the Shriners of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dale was the former commander of the Port Clinton Power Squadron, and is a trustee for the Northern Ohio Rural Water District. He was the former owner of Surkamp & Rowe Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dale was an avid sailor, enjoying both racing and cruising. He also enjoyed woodworking, photography, and listening to classical music.

Dale is survived by his wife of 27 years, Connie (Shelton) Hall of Norwalk, Ohio, by his children, Tess (John) Cremeens of Troy, Ohio, Billy (Laura) Thomas of Charlotte, North Carolina, Beth (Dave) Hall, Kurt Hall, and Troy Osner, and by 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Neil (Carol) Hall of Wadsworth, Ohio, and by his sister, Laura (John) Eureka, Of Lafayette, Ohio.

Dale was preceded in death by his sister, Donna (Lyle) Gaylord.

Yvonne Ione Bowers

 Norwalk, Ohio – Yvonne Ione Bowers (83) of Norwalk, Ohio went home to be with the Lord she loved on November 9, 2017

She was born February 27, 1934 in Wakeman, Ohio to the late Frank E. and Norma A. Butch. She was a native of Norwalk, Ohio and retired here in 1998 after 57 years of ministry alongside her pastor/missionary husband. Yvonne was a 1951 graduate of Norwalk High School and a 1955 graduate of Nyack College in Nyack, New York. She served as a missionary in Guinea, West Africa and later as a pastor’s wife to congregations in Pennsylvania and Ohio. She also ministered alongside her husband in the district office of the Eastern and Central Districts of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Vonnie, as she was known, loved her Lord Jesus Christ first, her family second, and the many people who knew her. She always had a big smile and kind word to say to everyone she met. She loved music and was a piano and organ teacher for many years, as well as a vocalist for church and many other special occasions. There wasn’t much she hadn’t read or made as she was an avid reader, crafter, and seamstress. Many friends and family were blessed with her handmade items down through the years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Rev. Howard D. Bowers, her children, H. Daniel (Deborah) Bowers of Norwalk, Karen (Rev. Stephen) Sickel of Willard and Janet (Larry) McGue of Norwalk. Her 10 grandchildren, Ryan Bowers, Kyle (Gina) Bowers, Trevor Bowers, Rev. Brent (Beth) Sickel, Danielle (Ben) Hamman, Jordan (Hilary) Sickel, Alec (Jessie) Sickel, Kailyn Sickel, Elizabeth McGue and Matthew McGue and 10 great grandchildren. Yvonne is also survived by two sisters, Janet (Ron) Morehouse and Sharon (Tom) Austin both of Norwalk.

Friends may call at New London Alliance Church from 1-3 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2017. A memorial service will follow with the Rev. Brent Sickel officiating at 3 pm.

David (Dave) Mason

Norwalk, Ohio -David (Dave) Mason, 60, passed away peacefully on, November 6, 2017.

Preceded by his parents, Hale and Audrey, and brother Mark.

Survived by his daughter Aundria Mason, grandchild, Scarlett, sister, Chris Greene, nephew, Shawn Ellis (Tavia), cousins and friends. David will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.

Robert A. Strader, 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in his home.

Robert is survived by his son, Jamie Knowland, by his brothers Larry and Thomas Strader by his sisters Shirley Strader, Lynn Knowland, and Kathy Strader Smith.

Anna B. Green

 Norwalk, Ohio – Anna B. Green, 81, formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, November 6, 2017 in the Elmcroft Senior Living Center, Lorain, Ohio. She was born March 25, 1936 in Sutton, West Virginia, to the late Charles and Lela (Brown) Bussey.

Anna was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Missler’s Super Value in Oberlin, Ohio, and retired from Key Bank in Wakeman, Ohio, with over 30 years of banking experience. Anna loved cooking. Coffee was always on and a home cooked country meal was only minutes in the making. She also made back stage meals for country stars, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Tracy Lawrence. Pies or dollars were always shared for anyone in need. She always had a treat, and sometimes even a home, for her four legged friends along the way. Anna also enjoyed crocheting and sewing, lawn work, and especially enjoyed rescuing dogs.

She is survived by her children, Randal Cutlip, of Anson, Texas, Rebecca Torrez of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Mary Ann (Tim Hawkins) Feakins, of Wakeman, Ohio, by 5 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ray Green, and by her sister, Flora Mae Bissinger.

There will be no calling hours or service. Interment will be in Cutlip Cemetery, Gassaway, West Virginia.
