Martin Del Ray Garcia

Norwalk, Ohio – Martin Del Ray Garcia, 18, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Monday as the result of an automobile accident. He was born February 1, 1997 in Norwalk, where he was raised. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 2015.

Soft-spoken with an infectious smile, Martin was known as a kind person and a hard-worker. He worked at Schild’s IGA during high school and then at Flex-Pack, a division of Pepperidge Farm in Willard, Ohio. Raised by his mom as one of five children in a single-parent family, he made the personal decision to become one of Jehovah’s Wittnesses and was baptized in 2012. As part of his worship, he studied the Bible, shared his faith with others through the door-to-door ministry and gave Bible talks. He also assisted with projects and tasks at the Kingdom Hall. One of the Bible teachings Martin shared was the resurrection hope, namely that those who are sleeping in death will one day be brought back to life in an earthly paradise, where they can enjoy everlasting life serving God in perfect conditions.

Survivors include his mother, Gracie Herrera of Norwalk, Ohio, his father, Martin (Krista) Garcia of Norwalk, Ohio, his siblings, Brenda Herrera, Miguel Herrera, Andrea Herrera, Julian Herrera, Christine Branscomb, Amanda Jane Garcia, Martin Rico Garcia, Raynaldo Martin Garcia, Bryanna Dye, and Rosalyn Marie Garcia. Martin is also survived by his Maternal Grandmother, Eusebia Garza, and by his Paternal Grandmother, San Juanita Garcia, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandfather, Miguel Herrera, by his Uncle, Miguel Antonio Herrera, and by his sister, Alicia Angel Garcia, and by his infant brother, Reuben Garcia.

Services for Martin Del Ray Garcia will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Foundation Church located at 87 West Main Street (behind St. Paul Episcopal Church), Norwalk, Ohio.

Friends may also call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center at Norwalk High School, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by Elijah White, an elder in the Norwalk Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, of which Garcia was a member.
