George Charles Kimmich, 86, of Wellington, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024 at his home. Born and raised in Cleveland, George was the son of the late George and Beatrice (nee Smith) Kimmich and graduated from West High High School. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 8 years.
Alongside his wife, George owned Kimmich’s SUPERVALU in Wellington. He also worked for Nickles Bakery. A true lover of outdoor activities, George could often be found fishing and hunting. He belonged to the Southern Lorain County Rifle and Pistol Club. George enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
George was the loving husband of Sharon (nee Proeger); father to Terri (Mike) Honohan, Christopher (Jennifer (nee Mesko)) Kimmich; Matthew (Hilary (nee Shaffer)) Kimmich; grandfather of 6, Meghan (Josh) Manco, Colleen (Connor) Gibson, Victoria, Charles, Elena, and Elise Kimmich; great grandfather to 5; brother of Catherine (Jay) Mansbach and an uncle to two nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, James.
